This case study involved a 28-year-old female with headaches that combined features of both chronic migraines and cervicogenic headaches. A thorough examination revealed upper cervical joint fixation and poor cervical muscle control and endurance. Following six sessions of manual therapy to address these issues, the patient reported that her headaches reduced from 16 to 3 days per month, and when headaches did occur, they did not last as long, and the intensity dropped by over 60%. Doctors of chiropractic often treat both type of headaches using manual therapies such as manipulation and mobilization.
